NGC 7331 (also known as Caldwell 30) is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Pegasus.  It was discovered by William Herschel in 1784.  It is part of a small group of galaxies referred to as the 'Deer Lick Group,'   which is part of a much larger group of about 35 galaxies referred to as the 'Pegasus Spur.'

The Deer Lick group, whose nick-name was bestowed by an American amateur astronomer in honor of 'Deer Lick Gap' which is located in the mountains of North Carolina, is comprised of 10 NGC objects. NGC's 7325, 7326, 7327, 7331, 7333, 7335, 7336, 7337, 7338 and NGC7340.

TELESCOPE:  Celestron C9.25" SCT @ F/12.6

MOUNT:  Celestron CGE Pro.

EXPOSURES:  16

EXPOSURE LENGTH:  400sec.

TOTAL EXPOSURE LENGTH:  1hrs 46min 40sec.

SUBTRACTIONS: 14 dark frames and 10 bias frames.
